    Why KPL?

As a third year, I felt unfulfilled and was missing something from my college experience. I wanted to grow into something that lasts beyond college, and when I met Kappas I instantly knew I wanted to surround myself with these sxsters. They are the most genuine, silly, unique, and beautiful individuals I have ever met, and I am so blessed to be loved and supported by them. I know I can always be myself, and count on them no matter what (both professionally and personally!) They inspire me every single day. I love my sxsters with my whole heart <3 !!

    Positions held in Kappa:

    About Me:

Hello, my name is Michele! I was born and raised in Queens, New York. I moved to Florida when I was in the 6th grade. Moving to Florida made me a big introvert and made me struggle to express myself to others since it was a super different environment from my home city. However, during my senior year of high school, I slowly started to open up more. Some of my hobbies are playing video games, shopping, working out, traveling, photography, and playing badminton! My long-term goals include getting my masters in public administration at the University of Miami and working in human resources for Tesla. A fun fact about me is that I can lick my elbow :p

    Why KPL?

As a New York City girl at heart, expanding down to Florida has made me feel very distant from my culture. Being the only Asian in my High School has made me miss a sense of belongingness to my Asian heritage. I knew for a fact that I wanted to surround myself with people who share similar values and people who are inspiring. When I first rushed Kappas, I felt extremely welcomed and a connection with all the sxsters. Seeing all the sxsters talk about their personal stories on why they chose Kappas made me notice a resemblance as to what kind of community I would want to surround myself with.

    About Me:

Hi! My name is Diana and I am a driven individual who loves uplifting others. I enjoy nature and everything the world has to offer. My goal in life is to become a PA specializing in pediatrics and I am working towards that goal each and every day. During my free time I like to travel, shop around, and hang out with friends. I also enjoy going to the beach, kayaking, and hiking.

    Why KPL?

I chose Kappas because they have always welcomed me with open arms. I felt like I could be myself around these strong and confident individuals. This sxsterhood has allowed me to embrace my own culture and bond over shared experiences. I am so glad I found sxsters I can rely on as my support system and I wouldn’t trade them for the world! <3

    About Me:

Hi!! My name is Yoonmi Hwang (she/her) and I am your girl when it comes to doing hair and makeup (especially falsies)! I love all things skincare and beauty, but also taking time for yourself through journaling and meditating. I love hanging out with friends and trying new restaurants, so invite me to get food and you already have my heart. I'm a big Swiftie but an unpopular opinion is that her Lover album is my favorite.

    Why KPL?

KPL is such an amazing and diverse community that accepts everyone with open arms, I felt right at home when I met all the sxsters. Everyone genuinely wants to see you grow and do your best; I have never felt more loved and supported by such amazing sxsters than I do here. I wanted to join a sorority in the past, but could never envision myself in any. Once I went out to the first recruitment event, I immediately knew from the passion and dedication of the sxsters that this would be my home. <3

    Co-Recruitment Chair (Spring 2024)

    Co-Cultural Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Hihi!! I immigrated to the Gainesville from the Philippines with my parents when I was a baby. I mostly grew up in Tampa, though and I am a huge homebody. I love hanging out with my friends spontaneously and I am involved in the Filipino Student Association. I aspire to have a career in healthcare and I am currently a Patient Care Assistant :D!! I am currently obsessed with video essays about random lore and I love music in any capacity (vocal, instrumental, etc.) Catch me at the Engineering building around 2am doing absolutely nothing!

    Why KPL?

I’ve been aware of Kappas since I’ve come to college, but I didn’t see myself joining a Greek Organization. Going into my second year, I wanted to surround myself with a group of people who are driven and supportive! The moment I met sxsters I felt very welcomed and their energy was so so encouraging. I also appreciated how much the KPL pillars resonated with my personal and professional goals. From the start, I’ve felt very accepted and I’m super excited to see what the future brings.

    Positions held in Kappa:

Academic and Wellness Chair (Fall 2023)

    Co-Recruitment Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Hey there it's Nidhi! I'm a Political Science and Information Systems major and I'm currently a student assistant at the Hough graduate business school so hit me up with any master's questions I gotchu:) I absolutely love reading and watching book to movie/tv adaptations. I have a slight obsession with Kaz Brekker and if you know who that is we are officially besties!!!! My ultimately goal is going to Yale Law School and becoming a corporate lawyer. Some fun facts about me is that I have a double thumb that looks a little like a heart and I have a twin sister who goes to FSU (I'm always talking about her). I love making spontaneous last minute decision because those always end up being so worth it. And you;ll usually never see me during the day without my sunglasses!

    Why KPL?

I knew KPL was it for me after the very first recruitment event that I went to. The vibes were immaculate. Then slowly I got to realize how welcoming and supportive this entire sxsterhood really was and how absolutely EVERYONE is rooting for you. The transition from having minimal support in my first semester to a tremendous amount in my second semester definitely gave me whiplash, but it was so very welcome. The moment I entered the sxsterhood I knew that it was something that I would never want to give up.

    Webmistress (Fall 2023)

Academic and Wellness Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Hii my name is Melody and I am from Gainesville (ACR moment). In my free time, I love to go thrifting with my friends, impulsively buying vinyl that are way out of my budget, playing silly video games like Roblox and Minecraft, reading, and pretending to be productive at coffee shops. My favorite cafe drink is an iced or hot matcha latte. A fun fact about me is that I would ask someone for their Spotify profile over their Instagram profile. I also love trying out random makeup looks for fun and will buy multiple versions of a makeup product that I probably don't need (heavy on lip products and blushes). I also have two cats named Jerry and Scooter <3

    Why KPL?

I wanted to join an organization where I could be surrounded by people who share similar cultural experiences and that would push me to improve myself both professionally and personally. When I went to my first recruitment event, I instantly felt welcomed and loved all of the sxsters there. KPL has been an amazing community where I feel completely accepted and supported, both in terms of professional feedback and just as friends.

    Alumnae Relations Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Hi :)) I am Alex and I am from West Palm Beach, Florida (SoFlo shoutout !!). At UF I am involved in Black Student Union (BSU), African Student Union (ASU), Snacks and Yacks, and Thai-Lao Student Association (TLSA). I am currently a doordasher, even though I lack spacial awareness (curbs fear me). My favorite hobbies are eating and taking naps! Some fun facts about me are that I grew up in Ireland, love to vlog my day, love caprisun, have an obsession with the game merge mansion and prefer movies over shows.

    Why KPL?

I originally could never see myself in a sorority, but I truly found my people in KPL. I went to recruitment events with my bestfriend during Fall 2022 for the fun socials and snacks. Even though fall semester was not a good time for me, with encouragement from some sxsters I decided to come back during spring semester. I can feel the love that I get from all of the sxsters around me and my LS (who I know will always have my back) constantly pushing me to be my best self and have continuous growth!

    Line Number: #195

Big Sister: Odalys Herrera *GAMEMAKER* (University of North Carolina Charlotte)

    Little Sister:

    Major: Mechanical Engineering

    Year: Class of 2025

    Ethnicity: Filipino-American

    Positions held in Kappa:

    Co-Performance Chair (Fall 2023)

    About Me:

Hai! My name is Allyse Brianna Eleazar Doblmeier and I use any pronouns. I'm half Filipino on my mother's side and I was born and raised in Broward County, Florida. I'm majoring in mechanical engineering and I work as a Teaching Assistant for the Design and Manufacturing Lab on campus. Other than manufacturing and arithmetic I love performing, attending concerts and cooking. I'm a Virgo Sun, Moon, Rising, Venus, and Mercury and I hope that's only slightly intimidating.

    Why KPL?

Kappa Phi Lambda was the first place on campus that I truly felt wanted. Since the very first day of recruitment the sxsters made such a conscious effort to get to know more about me, and hype me up even though they barely knew me at the time. The incredible people in this sorority have made such an impact on my friendships, confidence and awareness in the very little time that I have known them. I cannot adequately express how grateful I am that I came across this sorority, my life is forever changed.
