    Positions held in Kappa:

    About Me:

Haiii! I'm Stacy, I am originally from Lima, Peru and was raised in Orlando, Florida. I am currently studying engineering so that takes up a lot of my time but when I’m not I am usually hanging out with my friends! I love going to concerts and trying new foods. My favorite concerts so far have been One direction, Taylor Swift, and Bad Bunny. I enjoy traveling and am intrigued by learning about new cultures. My favorite part of the day is coming home and winding down with some skincare. I am a virgo and a firm google calendar believer!

    Why KPL?

As someone who prioritizes cultural awareness and appreciation, I wanted to find a group of likeminded people. By surrounding myself with kind and high achieving people I am empowered to reach my own full potential. Now that I have settled into college I decided to rush and I immediately felt welcomed and encouraged to be myself.

    Publicity Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

My name is Danielle and I was born in the Philippines but grew up in Illinois. I decided to move to Florida for school to be able to say I've lived somewhere else for part of my life. I love listening and finding new music and going to concerts! In the future, I hope to have a career that is on the business side of the music industry.

    Why KPL?

Being an out of state student, I felt that I needed a community where I felt like I belong and that I am able to grow both professionally and personally. Through Kappas, I have found a safe space where I have felt supported every step of the way. I’ve met and become friends with so many amazing sxsters<3

    Little Sister:

    Major: Information Systems

    Year: Class of 2027

    Ethnicity: Vietnamese

    Positions held in Kappa:

    Co-Service Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Helluu, my name is Mint. I was born in Vietnam and moved to the Florida during high school. About me, I would say, sometimes I’m a professional overthinker, and sometimes I’m totally down to earth. What do you think? ^^ Currently, I’m a business Freshman but aim to pursue a double major in Data Science. I love fashion and I’m a shopaholic. I enjoy sewing and reconstructing my own clothes. I believe that clothes are basically our second skin so dressing up is a good way to expose my true inner selves ~ However, I do get sick of fashion and clothes sometimes, and just want to be a minimalist. You could only find me wearing neutral colors, because that’s just me:)) In the future, I want to start something social-media-based about fashion.

    Why KPL?

Moving to the US in high school, I had a hard time trying to integrate and make friends. I felt lonely all the time back then, as I couldn't find myself a place to belong. It's Kappas that changed my life forever. I can't stress enough how special I felt on the very first day I spent with Sxsters at rushing events.

    ♡´・ᴗ・`♡

My gut feelings told me that Kappas is my home base, and guess what?!.. I was right!

  • “As above, so below.”

    Line Number: #199

    Big Sister: Eileen Calub *Empirical*

    Little Sister:

    Major: Health Science

    Year: Class of 2026

    Ethnicity: Vietnamese

    Positions held in Kappa:

    MGC Representative (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Hiiii, my name is Vi :3! I was born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida (shout out to the 239‼️). I'm currently a Health Science major on the pre-PA track, and I hope to specialize in psychiatry because I am really passionate about mental health and extending my arm to those in need. I love playing video games (mostly League, TFT, Terraria, Stardew, and any of the Pokémon games from Gen 3 to present), listening to music, getting food, collecting figurines and knick-knacks, taking naps, singing, going on late-night drives, watching anime/reading manga, being silly, and spending time with my beloved cat, Cleo. I'm really open to new experiences so if you ever need someone to accompany you, I'm your girl! 😼

    Why KPL?

I came to UF feeling like I was starting on a clean slate, having the strong desire to find a new community I could identify with, new friends I could make memories with, and a place I could call my new home for the foreseeable future. I consider myself to be an "out-going introvert," so while I was excited for these new beginnings, I was also very anxious about the challenges that lie ahead. In my first year, I got involved in a few student organizations in hopes to find that community for me, but I was unsuccessful and had to go back to square one where I wanted to find a new community again. After watching the 2023 AASA show and talking to my cousin and his girlfriend about my recent struggles, I was motivated to come out to my first recruitment event for Kappas. I was immediately greeted by so much kindness and a profound sense of welcoming that I went to every single recruitment event afterwards! Joining KPL has easily been one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life, and I genuinely would never trade this for anything. I feel like I have finally found my home away from home, and I'm SO excited to make more memories with all of my sxsters and more to come. Yippee!!! ☺️

    Little Sister:

    Major: Microbiology & Cell Sciences

    Year: 2026

    Ethnicity: Vietnamese

    Positions held in Kappa:

    Philanthropy Chair (Spring 2024)

    Co-Sxster Events (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

Hi :D my name is Myan (she/her) and I was born in Guam (HAFA ADAI ISLAND GYALS) but mostly grew up in Orlando. I thrive on music, ice-cold water, rotting in bed, shopping, and excelling academically. I intend to go into medical school and possibly pursue a career in ophthalmology! A fun fact about me is I tend to hyperfixate on every form of media I consume to the point that I run it to the ground and end up hating it!!! Some past hyperfixations that I have yet to shut up about include: This Is How You Lose the Time War, The Haunting of Bly Manor, the entirety of the Give or Take album, Rick and Morty, and Bags recorded at Electric Lady Studios!!

    Why KPL?

Kappas have always been such a welcoming and inclusive space for me even before I decided to rush. Seeing how sxsters treated not just each other but also those outside of the organization with such genuine interest and respect drew me to Kappas time and time again. Since joining, I have been met with an overwhelming amount of support and love from sxsters, and I am so grateful that this sxsterhood has given me a space to grow myself through college and beyond.

    Line Number: #201

    Big Sister: Carissa Chanrasmi *Entropy*

    Little Sister:

    Major: Psychology (Behavior Analysis)

Minor: International Development and Humanitarian Assistance

    Year: Class of 2024

    Ethnicity: Filipino

    Positions held in Kappa:

    About Me:

My name, Clementine, is actually not my legal name (at the time of writing this) but my Catholic name that was chosen during my confirmation, which means “merciful.” I chose to go by this name, as this word is something I hope to continue to embody. I am most passionate about advocating for people of marginalized groups, such as people with disabilities and the APIDA community. This past year, I had the pleasure of working as an intern for several organizations focused on legal advocacy, including The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights—the nation's oldest, largest, and most diverse civil and human rights coalition. Throughout my time serving various roles within the Asian American Student Union at UF, I have grown my passion for advocating for the APIDA community through educating members, facilitating events, and creating opportunities for students to appreciate their cultural heritage. Outside of academics and extracurricular involvements, I am a musician at heart who enjoys performing and cultivating my artistry with fellow musicians. I used to major in piano during my freshman/sophomore years, and I have been playing piano, my primary instrument, for 13 years. I also love to sing, play guitar, play viola, and have dabbled in playing the trumpet and clarinet in high school. When I’m not practicing or performing with my band, Hello Kitty Keychain, I can be found at home scrapbooking and decorating polaroids of my friends, playing with my cat, or binge-watching Tzuyang’s mukbang videos. In my free time, I also love playing Genshin Impact and Stardew Valley, trying out new restaurants, and improving my skincare routine. I believe wholeheartedly in dreaming fearlessly and empowering others to be resilient in their pursuits. As a student with hopes to attend law school, my vocational aspirations pertain to working in civil/human rights law or immigration law.

    Why KPL?

Throughout my life and most recent college experience, I struggled to find a group of people who could not only aid me in the development of my identity but also support me throughout that journey while encouraging me to pursue my passions. To me, KPL is just that. It wasn't until recently that I discovered what KPL really stood for and that this organization's values seamlessly aligned with my own. While it may have taken a while for me to find the courage to join, I'm more than happy that I did and have endless love and admiration for the individuals that make up KPL.

As a homebody, I love watching movies, going out to eat, cooking (I’m a self-proclaimed chef), or simply just hanging out with my friends and family. Something that I absolutely adore is spirituality. So if i’m not crying in the library or at office hours, I’ll most likely be eating (EXCLUSIVELY MONDAY AND FRIDAY) Krishna lunch, chit chatting with my lsies or summoning the spirits through tarot (lol). I am also a psychology major but you will find me only yapping on about Family, Youth and Community Sciences (it’s amazing). Lastly, I think an aspiration of mine is to be not only an inspiration or an Icon to people but also a legend (hehe). My motto is truly live, laugh, love so I hope to be living life to the fullest when I get older wherever I may be!!

    Why KPL?

Coming in to college as a first-gen and Asian-American student, Kappa Phi Lambda had become my home away from home. Knowing I’m not only empowered but supported, Kappas give me the opportunity and motivation to make impactful changes through service. With everyone I meet always being so kind, welcoming and friendly it’s so hard to not keep coming back. I effortlessly feel so loved, so cared for and so valued. Especially, through my big sis who’s warmth and tenderness continuously spoils me with love and advice!! Kappa Phi Lambda reminds me i’m never alone and I’ll always have support through anything. I’m earnestly grateful for KPL because I got to meet the most wonderful people I know who everyday I get to make the most memorable memories with!! 1995 till I die for real!!!

    Big Sister: Jasmine Looi *Geode*

    Little Sister:

    Major: Pre-Nursing

    Year: Class of 2027

    Ethnicity: Chinese

    Positions held in Kappa:

    Co-Performance Chair (Spring 2024)

    About Me:

As a freshman in college with a dream of becoming a nurse anesthesiologist, I'm at the beginning of an exciting journey. My passion for helping others initially led me to consider pre-med, but I realized my ambitious nature needed a path that was both impactful and flexible. That's why nursing, a field closely aligned with healthcare yet offering more versatility, resonated with me. It perfectly fits my goal of not spending my entire youth in study, yet allows me to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

But there's more to me than my academic pursuits. I'm also deeply passionate about songwriting, a hobby that offers a window into my soul. You can stream "Melody Song" available on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. Additionally, I am excited to share more of my creations soon as I have been working on some for a very long time!

A few of you may know, I am born and raised in New York. I have a brother who is ten years older and I have two dogs, Lucy and Zucchini, and a cat named Kacy. My bubbly personality means I'm often the one breaking awkward silences, and my extroverted nature shines through my interactions.

    Why KPL?

Joining KPL as an out-of-state Gator was a decision deeply rooted in my desire for a sense of community and familiarity. Coming from a predominantly Asian high school, I yearned for a similar environment that could offer a feeling of home away from home. The sisters in KPL have been nothing short of amazing in this regard. Their willingness to be vulnerable and open has created a space where I can comfortably share my own experiences and thoughts. This exchange of genuine emotions and support, especially as a freshman navigating the challenges of a new state, has been invaluable.

The energy within KPL is both invigorating and understanding, providing a unique balance that is essential for personal growth and comfort. It's this very energy and empathy that makes KPL stand out as more than just a community—it's a family. By joining KPL, I wanted to surround myself with people who not only shared similar backgrounds and cultural understandings but also aspired to similar goals in life.
